A prompt follow up phone call and a request to send them some approximate measurements and photos started the process off. They have been prompt, clear and honest. We enjoyed visiting the factory to be showed around by the very helpful Tom. Once agreed they gave us a date ( 10 months hence ) and promised they would stick to it ! The arrived on the day they had promised and in three days fitted our seven new and beautiful looking windows. I have just had new sash windows made and installed by Nathan McCarter and his team. The
windows are beautifully made of Accoya timber which has an exceptionally long life. The windows arrived already painted with a high-quality finish and were installed over a 3-day period. This involved removal of the old rotten windows and installation of the new, followed by detailed finishing and cleaning up. They look superb and are so well designed, fitted, and finished, giving the house a real uplift! Not only does Nathan manage and run the business with his wife Felicity, but he is also hands-on in designing, making, and fitting as needed. His extremely well-trained staff are thorough and professional working to high standards and I have total confidence in their work from the design stage to completion. I highly recommend this company and will be asking them to work again soon for me on another project.

We commissioned an architect to help prepare plans, however being strangers to the south west we then needed to identify competent craftsman to help with the essential works.

We commissioned Nathan to make some sash windows for our Victorian house. We felt we owed it to our house to have wooden replacements instead of cheaper plastic options. We met with Nathan and knew straight away we’d found our man! Glass, colours, time frames and fitting were all discussed and then the most amazing windows arrived on a cold December morning. I needlessly fretted about our house being an ice box during the fitting and dirty boots on our carpets. Nathan’s fitters were a credit to the Company, jolly and professional and more to the point- experts in their field. How fantastic to spend a winter with no condensation and windows that go up and down with ease. We had a couple of glitches, (new windows in an old building, I suspect) but Nathan or his fitters were there in good time to rectify this.

I have never replaced windows before, so I did not have a clue how to go about it. This made it very difficult for me to know whether the quotes I was getting from companies I approached were reasonable and trustworthy and took into account the fact that I live in a conservation area and the design of the windows and the materials are tightly controlled by the conservation area rules and terms of the lease. We needed a timber door and frame between our living room and a small porch area after we removed an old ugly PVC one.

The issue was the varying temperatures between the cold porch and warm living room.

We ask Nathan McCarter Joinery if they could make something to replace the PVC door and frame, while being able to withstand the temperature difference. The final product is a beautiful wooden door, frame and glass panel which is even better than we had hoped for.

It’s built amazingly well and you can tell it has all been made with the upmost care and attention.

From start to finish the service was spot on, communication was great and lots of care taken to ensure everything was thought of and clear before the job began. A very fair and competitive price and an amazing product, even the offer of some photographs of the door once it was complete and before it was fitted was very reassuring.

I knew we would get some great windows and doors from Nathan McCarter as they came highly recommended by Accsys Technologies who produce Accoya. I certainly wasn’t wrong. The doors and windows were of the highest standard but its was the way they approached the task where they really excelled. On the site visit Nathan (yes you get the owner) was great making a few suggestions which we hadn’t thought about. All very nice touches that really finished off the look. Felicity was on top of all the admin and scheduling so we knew from the outset when the installation was likely to occur.

They set aside 5 days to install everything and finished within the week. I’m sure they were hoping to be finished before but they had to battle with a Cornish full on storm that week and never moaned once. The team worked well and what I was really impressed with is how they operated. Everyone was making suggestions on how to approach the task in hand and they all worked to make it a success. Nathan was on site all week but it really was a team of leaders.

I’ve done too many refurbishments/house builds than I like to recall but Nathan and the team were brilliant and top of any list. The windows and doors look great, the installation was on time and within the timescale they allowed. All in all this was a great installation and we were left with some great windows and doors which will last a lifetime.

We’ve just had eleven new windows made and fitted by Nathan McCarter Joinery for our Cornish cottage. The process from start to finish has been outstanding. Replacing windows is a big financial commitment so we did a lot of research, over a couple of years, to find quality windows and a courteous company.

Although we live 80 miles from the company we visited the workshop and were immediately impressed. The windows are beautifully made to measure so the process is not immediate – but quality takes a little longer.

You could also find cheaper windows on the market, but we didn’t want PVC. As with all things, you get what you pay for. The fitting is immaculate, the fitters were efficient, polite and made no mess.

Our neighbour has also had similar windows made by Nathan and is equally impressed. We are very pleased we waited to find such a good company.
